I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not the job 24x7. I have a life, other interests, other past times. I have a family, friends, pets. I am a complete person. So I thought we needed one more forum so that we can express who we are and what we find interesting and unique about the world and life. So welcome to the breakroom, the place where we can discuss anything EXCEPT pSeries topics. No shop talk. We've enough forums for that.

I was watching The Travel Channel last night and they had a program on about finding treasure and money in the USA. It was great, they showed places like Franklin, NC where you could search for rubys and saphires, and a place in Nevada where you can mine for opals. I thought this was a great idea, why waste my vacation in a hotel doing things I don't care about anyway? I don't know what the odds are on finding anything but at least you would be doing something that could bring you some lasting excitement. Most of the places would charge a fee for a bucket of dirt from the mine and and you would go through it and see if you can find a valuable gem (of course you get to keep it). Some, like the opal mine, you actually get to mine for the gems (This was an open pit mine). I am already starting to plan a trip to NC, the odds have to be better than winning the lottery. |
