I want to configure xhost so that whenever a client (telnet) want to connect, he will not have to run "xhost +" since this command run only in graphics windows. I heard that we can edit a configuration file in order to avoid re-typing the "xhost +" command everytime but I don't know the filename ![]() I'm using AIX 4.3.3.0, in a RS6000 (7025-F50) machine. |

To enable a remote name by default, the name can be defined in the /etc/X?.hosts file, where ? is the display number to which you enable access.

Hi I see no X?.host file in /etc, so if I want to enable a client name "test", I should create a file named something like "X2.host", with the contents "test" (or IP, is it possible?), then put that file into /etc? Correct me if somethings wrong. Thanks so much. |

No, I think you misunderstood. To restrict X access to selected hosts follow these three steps:
