Scan_error_chrp

Last Friday, I've attached HMC to our AIX server. 20 minutes after that I got this in the error log. According to some other posts it looks like some card is loose.

There is no way that I moved any card or cable, HMC was already attached to AIX, I just installed HMC OS.

Is there any other reason for this error?

Thanks...

Re: Scan_error_chrp

Recommended Actions
RUN SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS

...Is the big clue.

As root run:

diag
advanced diags
problem determination
highlight sysplanar0
hit enter and a + will show to the left of sysplanar0
hit F7 or esc+7

If the results are not clear, please post them for further advise.

You might also try the above but choose system verification instead of problem determination to see if the system still thinks it has the problem.

Problem determination analyses the error report, system verification tests the system live.

Re: Scan_error_chrp

Do I have to kick all users out of the system while I run "diag" or not?

I already downloaded Diagnostic CD from IBM site, but this "diag" needs system to be booted from that CD, which means AIX won't be available.

My question is what's the difference between "diag" from the shell and "diag CD"?

Thanks...

Re: Scan_error_chrp

I ran "diag", followed your instruction and I got this:

An error was logged against sysplanar0, but analysis indicates that the error was corrected or successfully retried. No action is necessary.

I guess when I first initialize HMC with AIX, something went wrong.

Thanks for help...
