Hi! I recently bought a pSeries 660-H1, but I am not able to connect to the console using serial ports. I've tried to connect at different connection speeds (4800, 9600, 19200) and to all four serial ports, but I don't get the console. The system is not booting alt all (no OS at the moment) so I cannot change the console. My questions are: Do I need a special IBM serial cable? (I tried to use the one I use with my switches...) How do I reset the Hardware to use the default (factory) settings? This should make me able to access the console again on S1. Cheers, UXCore |

Probably the switch cable is a straight serial cable - you will need to unearth a null modem cable. You should not need to try and reset any factory defaults. terminal is standard 9600 setup. |
