I have a p570 LPAR partitition and I am trying to install AIX5.2 with ML04. This server is with Firmware SF240_261 installed. I am not able to install AIX 5.2 prior to ML08 in this partition. Neither i am able to install from mksysb taken another 570 which has AIX5.2 with ML04. My requirement is that I need to install the OS from the mksysb image taken from another p570 (which has AIX5.2 ML04 and of course with older Firmware)...When i try install from mksysb tape taken from the above m/c, it just boots up and then hangs after sometime, Can anyone help, Thanks. |

You can restore via NIM the mksysb, if you also give NIM a 5.2 ML 8 lpp_source with which to upgrade the LPAR.
