How best to setup P505/ hmc test lab

Hi. My first post.

I have 2 p505 and hmc. I need to setup an environment where there is an HACMP cluster and some lpars.

Some questions
1. I have connection via hmc and p505, on an open network, documentation say's it better to put server management on private lan, Why?

2. would it be better to allocate all resources to on partition and then use vio servers or create multiple system via hmc? how well does this work with HACMP?

3. I also have a p640 which does not have an hmc port, how can I manage this via the HMC. it currently has it's own keyboard and monitor?
