hi

we have by mistake corrupted firmware of 9113-550 server. it stops at code: B150F22A.

i would like to know how to overcome this problem and/ or how to load new firmware from screatch. we do not have floppy drive in system.

By stops, do you mean that it fails while attempting to boot?

If you can still access the ASMI/Service Processor, you can download the correct firmware as an ISO and load it off of the CD-ROM. If not....well, I can't recall if the 550 keeps two running versions of the firmware, but if it does you can switch to the other copy if it's not corrupt as well.

Also, if you have an HMC, you can reload the system firmware through that as well.

yes, i can access the ASMI/ Service Processor . and also i have downloaded the correct system firmware as ISO, I tried for upgrade it , but its only allowing from HMC Console and OS ,

I don't have HMC Console as an different machnie ,
But i have two HMC Port on P5-550 server .

Hm, well, an HMC is a seperate system, so if ya don't have one, that's out.

Can you boot it to the stand alone diags? If you don't have a copy, you can get a copy of the latest version by heading to IBM's website. There should be a link from the microcode download page. If you can get to that, you can probably do the firmware upgrade from there. If not...well, I dunno if there's another way to do the system firmware. You might need an HMC for it.
