Hello all, On my DS4300, i have flashcopy enable, and i'm looking for some concept information. I've define my flashcopy volume to be mount on backup server. Relation between host and target is OK and everything work well when i do importvg and started my backup on my backup server. My question is : On the target (backup server), is the hdisk i see is (or must be) the same as my source server or can it be différent hdisk for the same VG ? for exemple, in production, i have : hdisk4 dbprd_vg hdisk5 dbprd_vg etc... Must i have on backup server : hdisk4 dbprd_vg hdisk5 dbprd_vg etc... or may i have : hdisk8 dbprd_vg hdisk12 dbprd_vg etc... ?? Thanks for your help in my understanding. |

Hello, In fact, my question is stupid because i can do flashcopy from several server at the same time to one. So hdisk can't be the same. The process, is : you recreatevg with the right number of hdisk, you clear the pvid and you importvg. After you can do your backup. I was looking for answer because i was based my reflexion on an existing script that is no really correct when you extendvg or reducevg. So my importvg stucks because the number of hdisk by vg have changed. Thanks to all who read this alien post. That's all folk... |
