I have one more for you all,,,, I have a customer with a P570 who has a dummy terminal (IBM 3153) attached as a Management Console. The console locked up and will not communicate with the p570. I asked that end user to check the settings on the console and cable and make sure all was configured and attached properly, and it was. When this did not work I asked him to take the 3153 and attached to another p570 to see if that worked and it did with no problems, so it is not the console. This is where the challenge is: The software support guy had down loaded firmware 240.3.2 but has not done a reboot to apply the firmware because he is afraid that they will not be able to to reboot the system confortably. Now we can reset the Service processor but would require a reboot afterwards, again the customer is afarid the system might not come up or the re-boot be managed properly from the 3153 since it is locked up. Any suggestions would be appreciated Jim |
