    Hi Ross,

I have just joined this forum, and am still finding my way around. I have a problem building an AIX433 spot on AIX6.1, and have seen a message from you to another guy with a similar problem on AIX5.3. You suggested setting the following runtime variable

    nimrod:/ #export INST_DEBUG=yes
    nimrod:/ #echo $INST_DEBUG
    yes
    nimrod:/ #nim -o define -t spot -a server=master -a location=/NIM/aix4/spot -a source=lppsource_pfg pfg_spot

Creating SPOT in "/NIM/aix4/spot" on machine "master" from "lppsource_pfg" ...

Restoring files from BOS image. This may take several minutes ...

When the command completes I still get the error,

    installp: * * * A T T E N T I O N ! ! !
Software changes processed during this session require
any diskless/dataless clients to which this SPOT is
    currently allocated to be rebooted.
Checking filesets and network boot images for SPOT "pfg_spot".
This may take several minutes ...
warning: 0042-001 m_instspot: processing error encountered on "master":
0042-062 m_ckspot: "pfg_spot" is missing something which is
    required

The lppsource I am using for this build was created directly from the AIX433 CD's

    Hope you can help.

    Best wishes,
    Paul
