Hola Amigo, I am from the UK, been working on AIX for 3 months as I have moved from 4 years experience in HPUX system admin where I am certified. Hope to get AIX certification by the end of year. |

Definitely take advantage of the on-line practice tests to help prepare. If you want to increase your value to employers, and thus your salary range, after you complete your AIX certs, consider taking two more. For the first, pack an application such as DB2, Websphere or Tivoli TSM. It shows depth beyond just the OS. Then consider another parallel disciple, like storage and SAN management. That will show breadth of experience. Together, these will help you climb up the IT ladder much more quickly than someone who stays focused on just thier small view of the IT world. You might also consider taking a class or two in project management.
