I've been in the computer industry since 1979 as an operator, programmer(Fortran), Database Administrator, unix workstation CE, unix admin(HP,Sun, IBM,SGI), and now unix admin of servers(HP and IBM) as well as a DBA. I am HP certified and started with AIX 4.3 around 1998. My company recently purchase 2 p520 systems with AIX 5.3. I found this site because I'm having trouble when the system reboots, I have to go to the computer room and exit the SMS menu at boot up for the system to come up. I'm trying to find out how to avoid having to do this and just boot up. |

Hi, welcome to the forum. Sounds like your service processor (FSP) is set to boot the system to SMS. Access the ASMI via a serial console or a web browser connected to the HMC port and check / change the boot options. |
