Two questions: 1) Anyone else noticed any reliablity issues with VIOS 1.2 & 1.3 (FP8)? It seems that everytime I have to restart the VIOS LPARs on my p570's I have some type of issue with VIOS. Either LVs that are vSCSI targets get mysteriously put into a "closed" state (which had IBMSERV totally baffled), or the PVIDs of the SAN export disappear, or I/O wait is at 50% for no reason (i.e no clients connected). Is this just me, or are others seeing reliability issues? 2) I'm not exactly a fanboy of AIX, so I'm wondering if any progress had been made in the VIOS-on-SLES department regarding AIX vSCSI clients not being able to correctly "use" vSCSI targets on SLES? I tried to do this once, and the best results I could get left the AIX installer continuously formatting the vSCSI block device. I was told by the individual who wrote the whitepaper on how to use SLES as an I/O server that no one he knew of had tried this. Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks! |
