I have VIo servers built on 73GB drives . They are mirrored . I ordered new 300Gb drives ,and planning to replace 73Gb with 300GB . steps : unmirror rootvg in the first VIO reducevg hdisk1 add 300GB cfgmgr mirror 73 to 300GB set boot list ,bosboot etc.. reboot do the same for other 73GB once both 300GB are in -reboot Does anyone have better way of doing it ? Thx . |

Hi Looks like you're using standard AIX commands. If so and if your partition has some space for new disks, let say, in a p570 you can assign at least one 4-pack disk enclosure, you can add those new disks and using migratepv commands move all your operation from old disks to the new ones. This concept should work at AIX level, but some testing should be done at VIO level in order to check if this really helps.
