Hello list...I'm a newbie on VIO AIX. Since smit or smitty are not available there. I found the command: $ mktcpip -hostname VIO_Server1 -inetaddr 9.3.5.110 -interface en3 -netmask 255.255.255.0 -gateway 9.3.5.41 where ent3 is the Available Shared Ethernet Adapter Will this command save and change my new IP address, netmask, and gateway values??? Any advice is really appreciate. |

Yes the mktcpip will make your address change permanent. Yes you can access smitty on VIO after entering oem_setup_env - but you are advised to learn the regular VIO command line as this option may be removed at any time by IBM.
