Hi i am having a p5-550 Server with 8HDDs and an internal DAT(tape) Drive which is connected storage controller, i got a VIO Server and 3 LPARS on that server, I am able to access my tape drive from VIO server, but how can i DLPAR this tape drive to other LPAR, is it required to install an addtional scsi controller for this purpose. I got HMC to manage this server. Thanks Nanda |

Tape cannot be virtualized. What you can do is add an extra SCSI adapter, connect your tape to it and then you can dynamically move the tape around. HTH, sbzx |
