Hello, I am completely new to virtualization and any help would be greatly appreciated . I have a JS21 (type 8844); the blade was shipped without VIOS installation media, and I don't quite understand if this means the following: the APV feature was not activated; I cannot exploit the virtualization features of the JS21 blade. If that is the case, how can I get the VIOS media and activate the APV? Thank you in advance for your help. Senka |

I have no experience of blade system but believe the ppc970 blades (js21) are capable of APV. To use APV you will need to contact IBM sales, either directly or through an IBM business partner or VAR, and buy the APV licence which will include a copy of either IVM or VIOS install media. |

Thank you for your reply. Basically there is no way to check if the APV is activated, or I can assume that it is not activated since no VIOS installation media is not available? As far as I understood without the VIOS installed (and IVM integrated) I cannot exploit the APV feature? |
