Server: p570, AIX 5.3 I have a DVD ROM and a DVD RAM on one of my LPARS. I need to move them over to a new LPAR. lsdev -C | grep IDE gives me cd0 defined 01-08-00 IDE DVD-RAM Drive cd1 defined 01-08-01 IDE DVD-ROM Drive ide0 defined 01-08 ATA/IDE Controller Device Ok, so now I need the slot: lsslot -c slot | grep ide0 (crickets.....) How do I trace this to a slot, so that I can safely remove it and add it to the other LPAR's profile? TIA, Dave |

execute: #lsslot -c slot and look for the PCI related to ide0 (for instance, pci3). Then: #rmdev -Rl pci3 And now you can move/remove CD to another LPAR. Luck!
