How can you set up dual VIO servers with VLANs? I can setup the first VIO server with trunking and 802.1Q for VLANS 215 and 242 with no issues. When I setup the second VIO server with the same trunking/802.1Q setup, it will not activate because of the trunking on the first VIO server (a box comes up telling me that there is already trunking turned on). My intent was to create 2 adapters on the LPAR and use etherchannel network backup for redundancy. So how would I differentiate the two VIOS when I create the virtual adapters on the LPAR since each adapter would point to the same VLAN? What am I missing here? Should I be doing trunking on the LPAR itself and not the VIOS? Thanks! |
