I have a HMC v6.1.1..I am trying to load the Linux client for websm to my Linux RHEL5 server which is a x86 distro. So i open a web browser session enter in my IP to download the clent from the HMC. Choose the linux client for websm and download file name wsmlinuxclient.exe. So obviosly this file is in a DOS/windows format so the IBM how-to instructions say to perform the chmod 755 filename to execute. I do and it doesn't.. I only get a a linux meesage telling me that this is not dos/windows format and cannot execute. has any done this here? What is the trick.

Hi, You need to have Java installed. And linked to /usr/bin/java. You can use the version from java.sun.com. Follow the directions there to install java and then you can run ./wsmlinuxclient.exe. This is a GUI install. You can add -console if you want to install it from the command line. |
