| Hi; We have upgraded our HMCs from V6R1.3.1 to V7R3.2.0.1. Apperantly some command line features have been changed with V7; since we are not able to use some commands that we could use on V6. Now; we are looking for a way to see the commands that HMC web (https) console sends to HMC as CLI command. (like we used to see smit commands with f6). I dont expect that this will be as trivial as it is with smit but there must be a way to see those commands from event log or a script. Do you have any idea? Thanks a lot. -- Sena |

Hi Sena, Having not used HMC V7 or POWER6 I can't be of much help, Theres a redbook out on HMC V7: IBM Redbooks | Hardware Management Console V7 Handbook However.. if you really need to see what the HMC web interface is sending, you could simply try viewing the source of the HMC web page? You could also gain root access through hscpe account with a temporary password etc like in HMC V6 and find the web documents on the server and investigate what it's calling.. Generally the event log only keeps entries from major events, like H/W problems, CuOD activations, DLPAR operations, LPAR creation etc however you could take a look with the following command.. lssvcevents Definition: List console or serviceable events Example: – List the console events that occurred within the past three days: lssvcevents -t console -d 3 – List all of the open serviceable events for the system system1: lssvcevents -t hardware -m system1 --filter "status=open" |
