We have upgraded memroy on our p510.
HMC shows total available memroy 8G but lsattr shows 4G
the max memory was setup in profile as 4G and now I can
not add more memory to profile uless delete profile

Re: Memory Upgrade

Littleguru,

You can edit the profile to increase the max memory to 8GB. You should also consider changing your desired memory to what you want it to boot at. This will not affect the running partition. You will need to shutdown "shutdown -F" the partition and then reactivate from the updated profile.

What level of HMC code are you running?

Alan

Re: Memory Upgrade

Hi Al,

I created new profile and activated it, now I see all resources including
the 8GB memroy, probably I should have tried to activate the partition
with old profile and see if it sees all resources.

we are using HMC version 6.
