How do I get the following command to run on a profile that contains parentheses?? I have tried several variations and I can't find anything relating to it on the web.

ssh HMC_NAME lssyscfg -r prof -m MANAGED_SYSTEM_NAME -p profile_name(westcoast) --all -z

I have trusted SSH keys setup with my HMC, and doing: ssh hmchost "commands" works perfectly....

What do you mean "profile that contains parentheses??

Profile names do not support extended characters.
Try renaming your profile and power off the LPAR, then activate again from the HMC so the LPAR picks up the new profile and try again.

Normal rule of thumb for the parantheses in command line is escape with a back slash. For eg.

ssh bla bla \( bla \)
