I want to delete my VIO NIM Mast and aix lpars and start over. I have never done this before and i was wondering if any one has had experience with this before? What happens to the virtual scsi connections if i delete my VIO and NIM master? Will I need to recreate my LV's or do I just reassign them?

If you delete LPARS the LPAR config is removed but the data stays on the disks, so export any data VGs and blow away the LPARS, then when you create a new LPAR you can configure the same old rootvg and import a data VG and the data should all still be there. The old vscsi devices will be gone and need to be recreated unless they are mapped from and to the same virtual devices. Obviously when you boot an old rootvg in a new LPAR it will need to configure the new resources so you will probably get lots of old defined devices and then all the new available devices. |
