lpar a 9131-52a server

I have a server that had 2 VIO partitions setup on it for testing. Mgmt now wants to use this server for production and to have 1 partition that aquires all available resources. I did a backup of the HMC. I then shutdown the 2 VIO partitions and deleted them to free up all the resources. I now need help to create a new AIX LPAR (not vio). I have not done one in the past. I see on my HMC the server status is "operating". I tried to right click on the "Partitions" and Create Logical Partition. I put in a partition name and selected "AIX or Linux" for my environment. I get to the "Profile Name" screen and not sure what to put here. I then assume I click on the box at the bottom of this screen to "Use all the resources in the system". Can anyone validate I am on the right path or point me in creating this 1 LPAR?
Thanks in advance!

What you want to do is run "single image" mode. There should already be a partition defined on your system with those attributes. The server ships with it by default.

Re: lpar a 9131-52a server

Can you tell me how to run "single image". Is this an option on the HMC? Right now I have the Server showing as OPERATING. Below that I have an entry for "Partitions" with no partitions setup. Then below that I have "System Profiles" and that is it. Any direction would be appreciated.

You can follow what you found creating a partition selecting "Use all the resources in the system" option.

It will create a "full system partition" and will achieve what your boss requested.

Best regards,
Luciano Martins.
