Hi Folks,
I am new to the HMC, but I have one question. Is it normal for the web base manger login display to spend 15 minutes plus handshaking with the HMC?

No, sounds like an issue to me .. whats your network connection like between the client you are running wsm on and the hmc ? can you ssh in ok as hscroot ? do hmc commands hang on the command line (lshmc -V, lssyscfg etc) .. what level of code are you running ? any errors in the logs (/var/hsc/log /var/log) .. or service events ? call h.w support and get a pesh password and log on as root and see if you have any runaway processes via "top" or "ps aux" and that no filesystems are full (df) and all your memory is ok (free)

OK I found my problem. There was no DNS entry, and this caused a slow down. Once set up, the HMC responded faster to logins.
