Hi all, I have a set of 4 p650 servers managed by 1 HMC (let's call it HMC1) via serial connection. I have another set of 3 p650 servers managed by another HMC (HMC2), via serial connection too. Now I want to move the 3 servers currently connected to HMC2 to be managed by HMC1. Anyone has any idea on the proper way to do this? Thanks in advance. |

| Semut, All configurations (LPARs, resource usage, resource distribution, etc) of Regatta are stored on. So, you can remove the Regattas from "Managed Systems" on HMC1, reset cable connections and, after, include the Regattas on HMC2 "Managed Systems". All configurations are imported when the Regatta are included. Just one atention point: If both HMC are using DHCP Servers, using the same subnet range, you can have some problems, if two Managed Servers tries to use the same IP address. Regards, Luciano Martins. |

Hi If you already have four p650 connected to the same HMC then you have one serial PCI adapter on each HMC and you have one 8-port serial RS232 where you connect each p650 server. This should be the same with your second HMC. If you want to see all your p6 servers on both HMC in order to create some kind of high redundancy you need a second serial adapter on each HMC and another 8-port RS232 tablet. Hope this helps

I have a very similar situation except my machines are connected to the HMC by ethernet. Is there a different migration process. I would actually like to migrate all the settings from our existing HMC to a new one, is that possible? |
