HMC losing connectivity to managed system

Server: p570 AIX: 5.3 HMC: Version 5, Release 2.1

I'm losing connectivity between my HMC and my managed system every 3 or 4 weeks. When this happens, I'm not able to reset the connection via the HMC, I have to shut down all LPARS and do a pinhole reset of the service processor. My connection looks like this:
Code:
10.0.1.10                            10.0.1.11
HMC<----------->HP Procurve<--------->p570
                  Switch
I need the HMC on the network to backup critical console and such, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't put a direct connection between the HMC and p570 on the HMC's eth0, and connect to the rest of the network on the HMC's eth1. What's the best practice to meet both of these connectivity needs?

TIA Dave

Re: HMC losing connectivity to managed system

After reading sections 2.4 and 2.5 of this guide, it appears that I have a "bad" configuration. However, if I change this configuration so that the FSP is hard wired to the HMC, I will no longer be able to access the ASMI interface remotely. Is this the usual way of doing things?

TIA, Dave

Re: HMC losing connectivity to managed system

If you have remote access to HMC, from there, you can access ASMi of any p5 HMC managed system (whithin HMC desktop).
