Server: p570 AIX: 5.3 HMC: Version 5, Release 2.1 I'm losing connectivity between my HMC and my managed system every 3 or 4 weeks. When this happens, I'm not able to reset the connection via the HMC, I have to shut down all LPARS and do a pinhole reset of the service processor. My connection looks like this: Code: 10.0.1.10 10.0.1.11
HMC<----------->HP Procurve<--------->p570
Switch

After reading sections 2.4 and 2.5 of this guide, it appears that I have a "bad" configuration. However, if I change this configuration so that the FSP is hard wired to the HMC, I will no longer be able to access the ASMI interface remotely. Is this the usual way of doing things? TIA, Dave |

If you have remote access to HMC, from there, you can access ASMi of any p5 HMC managed system (whithin HMC desktop). REGARDS
