Exclamation Website Name Change Coming Soon

Many years ago, IBM released the S70 Raven. This was the first step in the eventual unification of the RS600 and AS/400 into what we now know today as Power™ Systems.

RS6000 became pSeries. pSeries became System p. And finally, System i and System p are now only known as Power™ Systems.

To reflect this new reality, we will rename the website in the near future to POWER-ADMIN.ORG.

The new site, POWER-ADMIN, will add additional support areas for the IBM i operating system as well as POWER Blades.

Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.

Re: Website Name Change Coming Soon

In preparation for this rename, we will be upgrading software over the next few weeks. Please be patient if the site is unavailable for short periods of time over the coming weeks or if certain features stop working temporarily.

Also, in answer to the emails, when we implement the rename to the new domain, pseriestech.org will still work, forwarding you to the new site. This will remain in place for a full year.

We will also email all registered users with the new website info.

Our goal is to make this as easy as possible.

Re: Website Name Change Coming Soon

A little more information on the new site features...

We will be adding blogs to the site. How you use them is up to you, but I will use mine when I'm working on a project to give you an idea of the challenges my team runs into and how we fix them. This will allow us to pass on our knowledge to others.

We will add a wiki to the site. This will be our quick reference for all things POWER related. Like any other wiki, it will only be as good as those who use it.

The classifieds area will be greatly updated. Think eBay style auctions in addition to for sale ads.

User reviews will help us keep each other informed on products we've tried - what works, what doesn't and why.

Expanded forums - i OS and storage, to name a few.

More info coming soon...
