IBM wants feedback (storage)

Future direction customer meeting at IBM: <Think..... small storage systems>

I believe some members manage one of the IBM tape storage devices we are looking for. IBM has asked me to get together a small group of people to meet with the IBM usability developers in Tucson. This is all expenses paid by IBM.

The IBM project is described below for your consideration. Check it out and let me know your interest.

IBM Project 8078: Storage Development Direction Conference (Tucson IBM: 2 days)

This study is part of a User Experience program where customer input is collected during the development of products. During this two-day event, participants will be asked to provide feedback for concept-related ideas pertaining to potential IBM storage and server product directions with specific focus on platform and data center management. You may also participate in a competitive comparison exercise and task analysis exercise designed to validate specific product requirements.

For those who qualify, this will be a two-day session which will be held at the IBM location in Tucson, Arizona on November 5th & 6th. IBM will reimburse you or your firm for your travel expenses and pay an honorarium of $200.00 per day to the participant.

This is an opportunity for you to influence the design of tape and disk automation hardware and software.

Space is limited and participants must apply. I am your contact for the application process, which is done over the phone. All participants will be chosen by application review, per specific needs dictated by the scope of this project. (This will ensure you are a good fit for their group.) This is for the hands-on manager of small to mid size storage (such as TS2900, TS3100, TS3200, TS3310, TS3400 and similar competitors) plus disk (optional).... attached to open systems.

IBM business partners are also included.

Thanks!
Pat
