BTW I don't think this is the cause since my current user has $TMOUT = 0 and I can telnet in unlimited time... |

Hi, I added the TMOUT=0 in each user's .profile file already, and of course when running "echo $TMOUT" it reports 0 all the time... But their telnet session are still disconnected after 30 mins, although they are working in that session (that is not inactivity)... Anyone have idea? |

Hi, Check your gateway.. If the gateway ip is an broadcost ip it didnt work.. If you put correct gateway.. I think it work.. And check the file /etc/security/login.cfg file if any TMOUT entry.. Divine Wishes..! Ravi |

Hi Hmm, are those telnet sessions opened to servers outside your local network ? i mean there' s a firewall or router on the way ? Why don't you try ssh ?? telnet is out of date and insecure. Hope this helps

Hi What AIX are you running ?? There're two cases of TCP sockets being discarted due to some problems with the tcp filesets, please click the following links: IBM - Known issues for DB2 on AIX 4.3.3, 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 IBM - TCP problems on AIX causing WVR problems If this is your case, you can install the patch in applied mode so you can easily rollback in case of emergency. Hope this helps
