I am trying to provision a AIX machine using a NIM server. I define resources and machine for the client using nim -o define command. When i try to execute nim -o bos_inst command, i get the following error.

0042-006 m_bos_inst: (From_Master) connect Error 0

rshd: 0826-813 Permission is denied.

can anyone help ??

Well as a start you can get round this by defining your nim clients to use the nimsh as their shell rather that the unsecure rsh.

Try also defining and executing the NIM commands from within smitty to ensure that the NIM setup is correct, as its easy to miss a parameter when you use the command line.
