Is there a way to have emails that are sent to a root account send to both root and another account? Setting the /etc/aliases file to "root: another@yada.com" will send email addressed to root to the yada.com account but not the local root account. I'd like to get emails sent to root to my local account, AND, also have root get emails as well. Been digging around and don't see a way to do this. Is there a way that I'm missing? Pete |

Add another email address onto your 'root' aliases entry. Something like this should work.. root: localuser, another@yada.com Don't forget to use 'newaliases' afterwards to rebuild the aliases db. This is assuming you are using the default sendmail MTA. |

I got it to work. I used root@server.fqn.com instead of "localuser". Guess I read the "how to" wrong. Pete |
