I've created an hp JetDirect printer via smit. Now I need to change the port number that the printer is listening at. I used smit printer-->print spooling-->Change/Show Print Queue Connection Characteristics. I only get options for local and xstation. How can I make this change via smit for some other method? TIA Dave |

Replying to myself to add additional information and ask another related question. As we've moved through the diagnosis, we found that the printer/copier that will be the target of this print queue is listening on TCP port 10001 instead of the standard 9100. I have no idea why. When I use smit to create a JetDirect queue, I'm given three port options: 9100, 9101, 9102. Is there a way to add another port? TIA Dave |

SMIT usually gives you the option of viewing the output of the command it would run, F6 I believe. Try doing that to see what the full command would be, and then change the port and run the command. Not positive if this will work, but it's the first thing that comes to mind. |
