FASherman. Im trying to install Horde as web mail. I dont know if you are aware with Horde.org. But as i wrote you i was haveing problem to configure php with gettext, pear imap....... I treid with your articale. Ok i tried to do the same as you wrote it and i succeded but not as expected because Horde shows that pear is not installed. In case yeas it is not installed. It is the problem with include path where php should look for pear which in fact it is not installed due to the make install which dont work in AIX.
I have found some article in whiche someone is doing like this:
gmake install-cli install-modules install-build install-header \
install-programs install-pear.
than cp ./libs/libphp5.so ..../modules
chmod 755 ..../modules/libphp5.so

this option makes error when im trying to do with your article.

the option works with gcc from UCLA Public Domain Software Library for AIX but it fails only for pear.

Please have you a solution for Horde on AIX 5.3?

I haven't yet been able to, my friend. I've been working from home for the last week and a half, recovering from surgery. My first day back to the office will be tomorrow and I will be working on your problem in earnest. I promise to have a thorough answer related to Horde be week's end.

Thanks Fred. I think your are the only one who can help me. I have looked everywhere for this but i havent found something related. My boss asked for me to do this in AIX becuase we have more than 9000 mail users and AIX is more relaible on this case....

My lab is now free of the forces of evil tha have held it hostage the last week (ie sales and marketing for a customer 'Dog & Pony Show'). What Horde product are you attempting to install? I will begin building it this afternoon.

Thanks Fred. Ok i need to install horde framework as a webmail as i said it and the application that it is doing this is imp, but also at the same time horde provide a application for changeing the password which i think Torba it is the name of it. Saw i can reduce my work chaneging passwd for the users. Also horde addresse app also it will be good to use my win ldap (AD)server to search for the staff addresses and also students too. What i have as i told it i have my mailserver on AIX 4.3. For the time i will use this because it will take me time to move the users on 5.3. ill plan to do this in the future and even to authenticate my user threw kerberos actually from you article.
Sorry I have a lot of question (for the shark ) but thanks good i found this and i think it would help me but let i finish horde as a start.
