Perl and Additional modules

I wanted to install Bugzilla on ouur system. Bugzilla requires a lot of Perl modules to be additionally installed. About 30% did not. After googling and reading, it seems that the problem is thet the pre-installed Perl was compiled using IBM compiler (xlc?) and I only have gcc(++).

Installing a Perl from sources to compile using my gcc ended up with a whole bunch of errors even more threatening than the Perl install errors.

Is anyone here with Bugzilla running on AIX 5.3 with only the gcc or has anyone a recommedation on how to do this?
