Hi everyone, we are running into a small problem... we have created 2 vio servers on our system, and have mapped to each one a fiberchannel card. the fiber is connected to the switch and working. as soon as the storage guys powers off and back on the port on the switch, the fiber card remains in initializing mode. the link remains down. is there a way to configure the hdlm driver to get the fiber back online automatically? otherwise i have to restart the vios. thanks in advance |

Hi you can use the HDLM commands in order to create a startup script placed on /etc/inittab and a stop script placed in the /etc/shutdown.sh script. Hope this helps

Sounds strange... This is more likely a firmware problem either of the adapters in the vio or more likely the san switch. Our McData SAN switches can reset/reboot each switchport without any impact on the AIX Machine and we use the HDLM driver too (with an without MPIO mode). I wouldn't write a workaround script for this kind of bug, this is not works as desinged for sure! Cheers seth Last edited by seth; November 2nd, 2009 at 06:15. |
