I have this server with 3 LPARs. I can't get the DVD-ROM working. I have never worked on this server before so it's new for me. I just tried smitty to add it but cfgmgr says can't accesss the device. Pls let me know if you need some more infomation. The DVD-ROM was working before until someone rebooted the server on the other day. Can anyone guide me in here to get it working? Thanks in advance. |

Hello, Thanks for your reply. I don't know how to check that. I was told the DVD -rom was working in one of the LPAR. Could you pls le me know how I can check which LPAR it belong to and how to configure/assign it through HMC? Once assigned to a LPAR, how to add it ? Thanks |

Check to see what LPAR (if any) has been assigned the DVD-ROM resource. Right click on the managed system and select Properties -> IO and see what LPAR has the DVD-ROM resource. (Sometimes labeled Other Mass Storage device) Last edited by dig1tal; October 26th, 2007 at 14:03. |
