Hi
My customer wants to implement an Oracle RAC cluster using ASM with two nodes on pSeries p561 LPARs running AIX 5.3. Storage will be based on IBM DS8300 through IBM SVC nodes. I have been told ASM cannot be implemented with SVC. Anyone has an idea ?? i have been looking in the Oracle web site and there's support for IBM SDDPCM Multipath software but not too much info about IBM SAN Volume Controller.

Hi,


Can u clarify the following.

What is the Server model u are having and which version of AIX is running.

Also what oracle version you are planning

Oracle ASM disks which you are referring is SAN disks ? ami correct ?


I have implemented Oracle RAC (10.2 g) on top of AIX 5.3 with SAN disk environment.

Hi

We got two pSeries p561 with 16GB RAM and 8CPU Power5+ running AIX 5.3 TL07 connected to our IBM SVC. We want to implement an Oracle 10i RAC Cluster on such platform. And yes, we want Oracle RAC to control via ASM those SVC provided SAN LUN.

That SAN enviroment you have implemented, was on top of IBM SVC ???
