Hi, You can do a NIM restore across subnets. You just need to define additional networks and gateways plus open firewall ports (if required) Steve

These URLs might direct you closer to what you are looking for. it looks like bootp is still being used though but it's essentially talking about network boot from firmware. So may be there are more commands at the firmware level that will let you do what you want to accomplish without using bootp. You also should consider disabling firewall between subnets sepcially for port 67 & 69 during NIM installations. hth :-( unfortunately I can't post the links here since it won't allow me yet until I post at least 5 posts to the forum. But you can google for IBM Wikis - Linux on Power and hit the "Installation" link. From there click the link "Network boot from firmware". |
