| Hi guys, I have a question related to HACMP and NIM. I want to make one of my HACMP node as NIM master Server. I have following IP addresses on target HACMP node ( Mutual takeover cascading configuration ) 172.16.2.190 as the service IP address ( with IPAT enabled ) and 172.16.3.190, 172.16.4.190 as boot addresses . I also have a HMC management LAN on which my Lpars conncet to HACMP with the ip address of 172.16.22.190 ( en2) I want to know that whether anybody has used any HACMP node's ethernet interface which already has a service ip address being aliased to its boot ip address.... Will it create any problem while booting NIM clients ( some of which are in different subnets and some are on same subnets ) from NIM master' bootp resources? Any ideas !!!! Regards |

| Guys , I faced serious problem while trying to add NIM client machines to NIM environment supervised by NIM master server running on hacmp server... whenever i run niminit command on client, it always give rcmd command error... However when i repeated the whole NIM configuration procedure by running NIM master on non HA node and NIM clients on HACMP nodes , all went well... It seems to me that any HACMP services not allowing NIM client connectivity to NIM master server... may be any security daemon .... please note that this cluster uses clcomd ........ The error which i was getting .. 0042-006 nimclient: (To master) rcmd connection refused Any ideas .... I still wish i could run my NIM master server on HACMP node Regards |

Hi, Not sure, as I haven't setup in HACMP environment before. Have you tried using NIMSH as your method of communication ? The steps required to set this up are documented in section 7 http://www.pseriestech.org/forum/tut...tions-262.html (NIM server and client operations) HTH Steve
