Dear All,

In my AIX 5.3 server,most of the commands are not working.I dont know why.

bash-3.00# ls -ltr *.*
bash: /usr/bin/ls: The parameter or environment lists are too long.

bash-3.00# rm *.log*
bash: /usr/bin/rm: The parameter or environment lists are too long.

There are too many files in your search string. Remember how wildcards are evaluated before the command is executed.

If you want to remove the log files:

ls -1 *.log | awk '{ print "rm "$1 }' | sh

or

find /mydir -name "*.log" -exec rm {} \;
