LPAR on p570

LPAR on p570

Dears all

i have a p570 server with host & extend, and i need to configure LPAR on the server but i am new to this technology, does it need HMC for the configuration, and where can i install that HMC.

please advice.

An HMC is highly recommended for configuration and administration of POWER5 technology.

Speak to either IBM or a IBM Partner for costs.

To run in LPAR mode on a p570 you need an hmc. You can order one thru your IBM business partner. As for connectivity, the HMC's en0 port connects to the hmc0 port on the p570 CEC.
