I am wondering how VIO client does I/O load balancing, or maybe the load balancing is done via the VIO servers. I have dual VIO servers on a P550, there are 2 LPARs. On the VIO servers, I have EMC Powerpath installed, so all my LUNs are presented as hdiskpower##. I assigned hdiskpower## via 2 vritual SCSI adatpers to the VIO clients. On VIO clients, each hdisk has 2 paths. It is set to fail-over mode. So I think there is no load balancing on VIO clients. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks. |

Hi There's no load balancing on your config, just failover. Your VIO Client will send data using the preferred path and only in case of failure the backup path will be used. Hope this helps
