Since migrating from a IBM F50 running AIX 4.3.3 to a p5-550 running AIX 5.3, we have noticed a multitude of rsh entries from a server that is not normally that busy: cweb rsh704552 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:58 - 00:58 (00:00) cweb rsh704550 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:58 - 00:58 (00:00) cweb rsh819408 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:58 - 00:58 (00:00) cweb rsh1192124 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:57 - 00:57 (00:00) cweb rsh704538 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:56 - 00:56 (00:00) cweb rsh819396 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:56 - 00:56 (00:00) cweb rsh1192116 cmweb2.morningside.edu Jul 31 00:56 - 00:56 (00:00) . . These entries were not present at AIX 4.3.3 but certainly are at 5.3. This server just passes web requests to our 550 and like I said is normally not busy at all, especially in the middle of the night. Any ideas of why this is happening and how not to log all of these entries? Thanks, Denny Watkins Morningside College 1501 Morningside Ave Sioux City, IA 51106-1717 watkins@morningside.edu |
