Hi Recently I was searching a way to get filename completion in AIX on a more convenient way than doing the complicated Esc-shift-+ thing. I know there is a bash which does this fine but I like the ksh and the set -o vi thing, extra switching to bash just for a nice completion hurts... I searched and found that it should work with ksh93 (is included in AIX) by setting set -o viraw and pressing Esc twice or tab (different statements) neither of them worked for me. I heard on other sides that ksh93 from AIX is a junkpile...? I dont know what to believe, I just want a ksh that can nearly do the same as the bash with "tab". Maybe my putty (my default login) needs adjustments? I just want to know if any of you has tried something in this way more or less successful than me. How does your filename completion work ;-)? Cheers seth |

I know that and this "shortcut" is somehow akward to type on german keyboards. I know that you can do a Esc+/ for inline searching the typed history and a Esc+* to do a lame version of autocomplete. The bash is there much more powerful with just pressing the Tab key. I'm searching a more comfort way in the ksh, similar to the bash but within the ksh/ksh93. Cheers |
