install apache on AIX 4.3

Hello all,

I have to install Apache to aix 4.3 ML11

is Apache installed using rpm or is there an AIX package.

Does anyone have a procedure for this?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Alright boyo

Download the source from here

Welcome! - The Apache HTTP Server Project

Install GCC compiler from the AIX toolbox

IBM AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications - GNU and open source tools for AIX

From there you should be good to go

Review the readme to get the compile options for install directory etc

no need to rush man - make sure it works etc as disk 4 is a copy anyway.


Just keep hold of it and I'll let you know if and when I want it back.
