Dear All, In my AIX server i am having 2 VIO and 2 LPAR.In my P550 Server,i am having 32 GB total Memory. But if i calculate from LPAR memory ,it is not matching to Total installed memory. DATABASE-SERVER-P550-1 16384 APPLICATION-SERVER-P550-1 6144 WEB-SERVER-P550-1 4096 P550-1-VIOS2 2048 P550-1-VIOS1 2048 Total Configured memory 30720 Missing Memory 2048 Here i have attached the LPAR Memory screen shot also. Hi Remember that pSeries servers use an area of memory called the Hypervisor used to hold info about LPARs and some other stuff like addressing tables for any PCI connected device your server has. In fact parameters like maximum amount of memory desired or maximum CPU units affect the hypervisor and the final ammount of free RAM available. HYpervisor usages the maximum Memory value of each LPAR to allocate memory for its own usage. This value is 1/64th of the memory allocated (rounded up)
