| Hi This is a technical doubt from my side & not related to any present problem. In AIX when we use one LUN from storage from two SAN link then how many device file of a LUN will be created, one or two? Assume I am not using any storage specific software like IBM-SDD for IBM storages which creates a vpath driver combining the two hardware path. If it sense two no of device file then how in a VG we can specify the primary & alternate link of a LUN. For a shake of comparison in HP UX it happens like this-- It sense the LUN from two different path & create two no of device files. We can make the VG using any one device file & after the VG is active then if we extend the VG to the other device file then LVM automatically sense the second device file as teh alternate link of the first one & mark as that in the VG configuration. It works for redundancy but no load sharing is done. Pls let me know who it works in AIX LVM. Thanks in advance. |
