Hi, in old hmc versions when you change the partition profile ,it was necessary to shutdown-activate the partition to see the new profile changes.Rebooting only would see the old configuraton.Has this behaviour changed with HMC V7? |

Please post HMC questions in the HMC topic! No, there is no change in HMC V7 code, the partition will only read it's profile when activated from a cold boot. During a restart / shutdown -r it simply cycles the OS and the profile information is not read from the HAL / managed system / HMC. This is never likely to change, even for p6 or later machines. |

yes you are right, i've asked my question by the wrong way, when i add a resource with dlpar operations it stays resident on the next boot with shutdown -r without shutdown&activate, but if i remember correctly in older hmc versions,if i did a dlpar operation it was lost after reboot if i did not put it in profile and shutdown-activate, am i wright? |
