Hi,

in old hmc versions when you change the partition profile ,it was necessary to shutdown-activate the partition to see the new profile changes.Rebooting only would see the old configuraton.Has this behaviour changed with HMC V7?

No, there is no change in HMC V7 code, the partition will only read it's profile when activated from a cold boot. During a restart / shutdown -r it simply cycles the OS and the profile information is not read from the HAL / managed system / HMC.

This is never likely to change, even for p6 or later machines.

yes you are right,
i've asked my question by the wrong way,

when i add a resource with dlpar operations it stays resident on the next boot with shutdown -r without shutdown&activate,

but if i remember correctly in older hmc versions,if i did a dlpar operation it was lost after reboot if i did not put it in profile and shutdown-activate,

am i wright?
